The Saraswati Veena is a vital instrument in Carnatic music, and this Ekandam model is handcrafted from a single solid block of wood, ensuring excellent structural integrity and tonal consistency. It features 24 precisely shaped brass frets, traditionally fixed onto the long fretboard using wax, allowing accurate pitch placement and smooth playing response. The fretboard measures approximately 2½ feet, offering comfortable spacing and classical playing feel.
Dual Resonator Design for Enhanced Sustain and Projection
The large hollow wooden resonator on the right side is carefully carved to amplify sound and provide rich, long-sustaining notes essential for Carnatic performance.
